Problem Description:
You need to locate a device's MAC address to have it manually registered to the network
Problem Resolution:
Please locate the device type below and follow the instructions for locating the MAC address (subject to change based upon operating system and device updates):
GAMING DEVICES
PS3 -
1. Go to System Settings and select X
2. Click System Information and press X
3. Your MAC address will display
PS4 -
1. Navigate to the Settings icon (located on far left)
2. Select System
3. Click System Information
4. You will see your MAC address listed on this screen (use Wi-Fi for a wireless connection and LAN cable for wired)
Xbox 360 -
1. Go to My Xbox in the Xbox Dashboard and select System Settings
2. Click Network Settings, then Configure Network
3. Select Advanced Settings from the Additional Settings tab, then click Alternate Mac Address
4. At the bottom of the screen, you'll see either wired or wireless MAC Address
Xbox One -
1. Press the Menu button on your controller, select Settings and then Network
2. Select Advanced Settings
3. The MAC Addresses for your Xbox One will be shown on the screen that appears - select either the Wired or Wireless MAC Address based upon the setup you will be using
*NOTE*: User's Xbox One may also need the strict NAT opened. After registering the device, a ticket will need to be submitted to Network Services to open the NAT (see KB 188588)
Wii -
1. Click the Wii button at the bottom of the Start Screen
2. Click Wii Settings
3. Go to the next set of settings by selecting the arrow on the right
4. Click Internet
5. Select Console Information
6. The MAC Address will then be shown on the next page
Wii U -
1. Go to System Settings
2. Tap on the Internet settings button
3. Select the View MAC Address option
4. Your Wii U's MAC Address will be shown
Nintendo 3DS (and most other DS types) -
1. From the Home menu, select the System Settings icon
2. Select Internet Settings
3. Tap Other Information
4. Tap Confirm MAC Address. Your system's MAC Address will be displayed on the screen
Operating Systems
Windows 7 -
1. Click the Start Menu
2. Type cmd in the search box
3. In the terminal window, type ipconfig /all and press Enter
4. There will be a block of information for each adapter on your computer, look in the description field for Wireless
5. The physical address of your wireless adapter will be listed, that is the MAC Address
Windows 8 -
1. Press the Windows Start key to open the Start screen
2. Type cmd and press Enter
3. Type ipconfig /all in the terminal window
4. The MAC Address will be listed under the appropriate adapter as Physical Address
Windows 10 -
1. Right click the Start button from the bottom-left corner
2. From the context menu, click Command Prompt
3. In the opened command window, type ipconfig /all and press Enter
4. The MAC Address will be listed under the appropriate adapter as Physical Address
Mac OS X (Yosemite, Mavericks, Lion, and Mountain Lion) -
1. From the Apple in the upper-left corner, choose System Preferences
2. Click on Network icon
3. Select Ethernet for Wired or Wi-Fi for Wireless
4. Click Advanced (bottom right-hand side)
5. Select the Hardware tab
6. Your machine's MAC Address is shown
TV Streaming Devices
Roku -
Option 1:
1. Check the bottom or back of the Roku
2. Your MAC Address will be listed
Option 2:
1. From the Roku home screen, select Settings > About
2. The MAC Address(es) will be listed
Apple TV -
1. Go to the main menu on your Apple TV and select Settings
2. In the Settings Menu, select About
3. MAC Address will be listed as Wireless ID
Chromecast (after Chromecast has been setup) -
1. Open the Chromecast App on your computer
2. Click Settings
3. The MAC Address (shown as MAC ID) will be located in the bottom-left corner of Settings menu
Amazon Fire Stick -
Option1:
1. During setup, when choosing your WiFi network (CCResNet), scroll over all the way to the right
2. MAC Address will be listed
Option 2:
1. From the home screen, select Settings
2. Scroll to the right and select System
3. Select About
4. Scroll down to Network and select either Wi-Fi or Wired MAC Address
TiVo -
1. Press the TiVo button to go to TiVo Central
2. Select Messages and Settings
3. Select Phone and Network Setup
4. On the Phone and Network Setup screen, the MAC address will be displayed on the top right of the screen.
Mobile Devices
iPhone and iPad -
1. Select Settings app
2. Tap General
3. Select About
4. MAC Address is listed as Wi-Fi Address
Android -
Tablet:
1. On the Home screen, tap the Menu key
2. Go to Settings
3. Scroll down and tap About Tablet
4. Select Status
5. At the bottom of the screen, the device's Wi-Fi MAC Address
Phone:
Option1:
1. On the Home screen, tap the Menu button
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap Status
4. Scroll down to see your Wi-Fi MAC Address
Option2:
1. On the Home screen, tap the Menu button
2. Go to Settings
3. Select About Phone
4. Tap Hardware Information
5. Scroll down to see your Wi-Fi MAC Address
Option 3:
1. On the Home screen, tap the Menu key
2. Go to Settings
3. Select Wireless and Network
4. Select Wi-Fi Settings and then Advanced
5. Your MAC address will be listed
