This article details how to access your virtual eText for your course inside of D2L
How to:
When you are enrolled in a course you should be granted access to your eText through a vitalsource link found within D2L. If you do not have access to an eText please double check if your course requires a physical book, if not then please reach out to the solutions center by submitting a ticket at help.ccis.edu or calling the Solutions Center at 573-875-4357.
To access your eText follow these steps:
1. From your D2L homepage, select the course for which you want to open your eText
2. From the homepage of the course, click the "eText Access" option in the top ribbon.
3. A new tab will open, it will display the books available for this course, click the "Read Now" button on the book you wish to read.
- If this page is empty, please check with your instructor in case you have a physical book
- If you are prompted to create an account, please use your student email (username@cougars.ccis.edu) to setup the account, only NEW students/faculty should have to do this. Returning students/faculty must login with an existing account. If you do not remember the password, you can reset it. This password is NOT the same as your myPortal password.
4. Your eText will now open in a new tab
