myPortal - Login First Time Activation / Reactivation / Expired Password

Overview

You need to setup your myPortal account for the first time or have forgotten your username/password and cannot access myPortal.

 

How to:

First-time User Activation:

1. Navigate to myPortal dashboard at myportal.ccis.edu. Continue to the Log In button at the top right.

2. Below the email bar, click First-time user: Activate your account

3. In the Authentication Information section, fill in the form.

a. Enter your College ID

Note: Your College ID is a seven-digit number that can be found on your student ID card, applicant acceptance letter, billing statement, or any official Columbia College documents. Be sure to include any leading zeros. If you are unable to locate your College ID#, you may call Office of the Registrar to obtain your ID. 573-875-7526 or toll-free 1-800-231-2391 x7526.

b. Enter your First Name

c. Enter your Last Name

d. Enter your Birthdate (YYYYMMDD)

Note: Your birthdate format is Year, Month, Day. Do not enter any slashes or dashes

e. Click Next

f. Set up a Security Question

i) In the Question section, select a question form the New Question drop menu or check the box to make a custom question.

ii) In the Answer section. Enter the answer in New Answer and Confirm New Answer

iii) if you already have a question set up, Answer the security question.

g. Click Next

h. Enter and confirm a password.

Note: The password must be 8 characters or more, letters and numbers only with at least 2 letters and 2 numbers.

i. Click Finish

4. You will receive your Username and Email address.

5. Return to myportal.ccis.edu

6. Enter your username@ccis.edu and password.

 

Account Reactivation (Password Reset):

1. Navigate to myPortal at myportal.ccis.edu.

2. Below First-time Users: Activate Your Account, click Forgot your password?

 

There are two ways to reset your password

 A) If you have already set up your Password Recovery Preferences email

1. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

2. Enter the recovery email address (a personal address other than Cougarmail or @ccis.edu)

3. Click Next.

    An email will be sent to the email account you have on file. Follow the instructions in the email.

Note: If you receive the error message "Could not match your recovery email address with any record.", this  means you have not previously set up a recovery email address. You will instead have to use the form to reactivate the account.

 B) If you do not have a recovery email setup,

1. Enter your College ID#.

Note: Your college ID is a seven-digit number that can be found on your student ID card, billing statement, grade card, pay stub, application letter, or your registration receipt. Be sure to include any leading zeros. If you are unable to locate your College ID#, you may call Office of the Registrar to obtain your ID at 573-875-7526 or toll-free 1-800-231-2391 x7526.

2. Enter your First Name 

3. Enter your Last Name

4. Enter your Birthdate (YYYYMMDD)

Note: Your birthdate format is Year, Month, Day. Do not enter any slashes or dashes.

5. Click Next

6. Answer the security question. (If you need assistance with your answer, please call 573-875-4357 or toll-free 1-800-231-2391 x4357)

7. Click Next

8. Enter and confirm a password

Note: The password must be 8 characters or more, letters and numbers only with at least 2 letter and 2 numbers (Do not use any special characters)

9. Click Finish

The system will provide you with your Username and Email address.

5. Return to myportal.ccis.edu

6. Enter your username@ccis.edu and password.
