Overview

How to set up Two-Factor Authentication for your Cougar Mail account on your mobile device.

NOTE: When setting up Two-Factor Authentication for your Cougar Mail account you will have to have access to either the Gmail APP or on a computer or PC be able to go to Gmail.com

Meaning, that you can NOT update your Two-Factor Authentication for Cougar Mail in the iOS (Apple) Mail app

How to: Android

Select the Gmail App
Select the Account Icon in the top right
Ensure you are logged into your Cougar Mail account and select Manage your Google Account
Select Security and Sign-In
Sign into the Security and Sign-In settings tab as this is password protected
Select 2 Step Verification
Select the 2 Step Verification Method you would like to utilize
Recovery Phone
Google Prompt: If you have one set up, you can select Manage devices to manage this method. Or it will have an "Add" button to select.

How to: Apple

Select the Gmail app
1. If you do not have the Gmail app you download it from the Apple Store
Log into your Cougar Mail address or select your Cougar Mail address in the top right
Select Manage Your Google Account
Select Security & Sign-In
You'll be prompted to sign in again for security purposes, sign into the Security page.
Select 2-Step Verification
Select Turn on 2-Step Verification
Select the method you would like to use for your 2-Factor Verification: backup mobile, backup email, Google prompt, backup codes or authenticator app.
Recovery Phone
Recovery email
Google Prompt
Once you've set up a method you will see this screen appear, once read select Done
