Overview
This article details how to use file explorer on your Windows device to map a network drive. This method will work if it is the first time you're mapping a network drive on this device, or if the drive had been un-mapped and needs to be re-mapped to the device.
How to:
1. Open File Explorer by right clicking your Start Menu and choosing File Explorer
2. Select “This PC” on the left-hand pane, you will now see the option up top in a category called “Network” to Map network drive, click that button.
3. You can assign any drive letter you want, for this example we’ll use the X: drive.

- You need to put in the correct folder path, they can be found HERE, if you have trouble call tech services (573-875-4357) and someone can help you and give you the correct folder path for your drive.
- Folder paths are what’s written in the area in File Explorer that looks like a URL bar. If you click in that bar, the full folder path will show for you.

- After that hit finish and your drive should be setup and ready to go.
- Here’s some common folder paths we typically use…
- X: drive - \\ccaffcifs-01.ccis.edu\Departments01
- W: drive - \\ccaffcifs-02\Share02
- L: drive - \\ccwebi10-01\files
- The I: and Z: drives are different per location; which can be found in this article.
