Zoom Phone - Making an Outbound Call

Overview

The following article will assist you with how to make an outbound phone call using the Zoom Phone Desktop Application. 

 

How to:

1. Make sure you are logged into the Zoom Workplace application, If you need help with signing in follow this article Article - Zoom - Account Creation and...

2. Once you are signed into your Zoom Workplace application, you will select Phone from the list on left.

3. With the Phone pulled you can make your calls one of two ways

  • You can dial out from here using the 10 digit phone number. (There is no longer a need to press 8 before making an outbound call. 
  • Alternatively is you need to make an outbound call to another Columbia College number, you can use the internal Directory. (More to come as this feature is enabled.)

4. Once you dial out you will notice that the Phone Icon on the dialer will turn red. When you are done with your call you can click on this to end the call.

5. While in a call you can also enable to Zoom AI Companion to to summarize your call. When you click on the AI Companion it will prompt a message that your call is being monitored by the Zoom AI Companion. The person you called will also be able to hear this message.  

  • To access these Zoom AI summaries click on the AI star Icon on the call you want to check in the left margin. This will bring up a Quick  Recap. Or you can click on View Full Summary for an in depth summary of your call. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
