How to:
✅ Add Public Folder to Favorites
-
Right-click your account name in the folder pane.
-
Select "Add public folder to Favorites."
- If you don’t see this option, ensure public folders are deployed in your Microsoft 365 tenant.

-
In the pane that opens:
- Expand "All Public Folders."
- Select the folder you want.
- Click "Add Public Folder."
-
Once added, the folder will appear in your Favorites list, and you can access it from there[1].
🌐 Alternative via Outlook on the Web
If you're having trouble in the desktop client, you can also:
- Log into Outlook on the Web.
- Right-click on Folders or click the three dots next to it.
- Choose "Add public folder to Favorites."
- Select the folder and click "Add Public Folder."
These folders will sync to your Favorites in the new Outlook client[2].
⚠️ Important Notes
- Only Mail/Post, Calendar, or Contact type public folders are supported in the new Outlook and Outlook on the Web[3].
- Removing a folder from Favorites is safe; deleting it will remove the folder and its contents permanently.
