How to:

✅ Add Public Folder to Favorites

  1. Right-click your account name in the folder pane.

  2. Select "Add public folder to Favorites."

    • If you don’t see this option, ensure public folders are deployed in your Microsoft 365 tenant.
    • Public folders from Exchange On-premises or hybrid environments are not supported in the new Outlook client[1].
  3. In the pane that opens:

    • Expand "All Public Folders."
    • Select the folder you want.
    • Click "Add Public Folder."
  4. Once added, the folder will appear in your Favorites list, and you can access it from there[1].

🌐 Alternative via Outlook on the Web

If you're having trouble in the desktop client, you can also:

  1. Log into Outlook on the Web.
  2. Right-click on Folders or click the three dots next to it.
  3. Choose "Add public folder to Favorites."
  4. Select the folder and click "Add Public Folder."

These folders will sync to your Favorites in the new Outlook client[2].

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Only Mail/PostCalendar, or Contact type public folders are supported in the new Outlook and Outlook on the Web[3].
  • Removing a folder from Favorites is safe; deleting it will remove the folder and its contents permanently.
