Microsoft Outlook - Opening Shared Folder from Another Mailbox

Summary

You can open another mailboxes Tasks, Calendar, Contacts, Journal, Notes, or Inbox folder (provided you have access) by simply clicking File and opening that specific folder.  The steps below will outline how to open a different folder on a different mailbox.

 

How to:

  1. Select Mail from the navigation pane in New Outlook. 
  2. In the Folder pane, right-click your account name, and select Add shared folder or mailbox. 

     3. In the Add shared folder or mailbox window, type the name of the mailbox you want to access. 

  • You can open another mailboxes Calendar, Contacts, Inbox, Journal, Notes, or Tasks folder.

     4. Following the steps, that new folder will appear on the left, named Shared with me 

  • This will work only if you have the correct permissions for the mailbox.
