Introduction
Microsoft Copilot Chat is included as part of our Microsoft agreement for students, faculty and staff. There are two ways to access Copilot Chat - through a web browser and from the Copilot app on your Windows computer.
How to Access
Method 1: Access through a Web browser
- Open an up-to-date browser (ex: Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Safari, etc.)
- Visit: Microsoft Copilot: Your AI companion

- Select Continue with Microsoft

- Sign in using your myPortal login ID (ex: jmdoe123@ccis.edu) and password

- This is how you can utilize the version of Copilot that comes with your student or staff Microsoft licensing, or if your department utilizes the paid for add-on, you will be able to access this here as well. ( Note: The green shield shown here denotes the secured nature of copilot)

Method 2: Access using the Microsoft Copilot App on your Columbia College device
- Search for Copilot in the start menu

- If it prompts for sign in, sign in using your myPortal credentials (Ex: jmdoe123@ccis.edu & myPortal password)
- You should be auto-signed in if you utilize any other Microsoft applications on your CC Work Device
