Microsoft Outlook - Export/Import Inbox Rules

Overview

This article details how to import or export rules for Outlook between versions. 

 

How to:

  1. In Outlook, hit “File”, on the Info tab, hit “Manage Rules & Alerts”
  2. On the “Rules and Alerts” popup box, under the “Email Rules” tab, click “Options”
  3. Hit the “Export Rules” button, choose an area to save your rules
    • Preferably your “I:” drive or in OneDrive.
  4. Import rules from the same area, just follow the same instructions and hit the “Import Rules” button instead of the “Export Rules” button.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
